Grants & Publications—Exponential Benefits

At the Price Institute, groundbreaking research has led to exponential benefits for enhanced patient care, including the first hand transplant, better heart assist devices, the technology for future facial transplantations, and improved wound healing, among other advances.

These achievements would not have been possible without funding from both the public and private sectors. Price investigators receive grants from the National Institutes of Health, other government agencies, and industry.

Our local hospital partners—University of Louisville Hospital, Jewish Hospital, and Kosair Children's Hospital—provide researchers with generous ongoing support that ensure our research activities continue to grow and develop.

Under Study
Many Price researchers are involved in genetic research, which hopes to prevent, better manage, or cure diseases affecting the surgical patient. In addition to basic science research, our investigators regularly conduct clinical trials of the latest therapies for such diseases as inflammatory bowel disease, polycystic ovary syndrome, and esophageal cancer.
