Summer Research Opportunities for Undergraduate Students
At the Price Institute, we believe that teamwork is a critical ingredient of research. We encourage our junior and senior student researchers to enjoy the excitement of collaboration as they pursue their individual research projects.
Two student researchers, Clay Weller and Henry Roberts, reflect on their experience at the Price Institute:
"The Price Institute of Surgical Research is a great starting place for a career in academic medicine. It is an exciting place to work because you're able to advance medical science with cutting edge technology. During our time at the Price Institute, we both learned and performed many laboratory techniques such as real-time polymerase chain reaction, laser capture microdissection, and flow cytometry.
"As undergraduate researchers, we were involved in every step of the process from designing experiments to writing manuscripts. In addition, we developed our public speaking skills through presentations at weekly lab meetings.
"The laboratory allows you to work and build friendships with highly motivated peers. Furthermore, it offers excellent mentorship with research fellows, managers, and primary investigators.
"Without question, the Price Institute of Surgical Research is an excellent opportunity for any undergraduate interested in molecular and clinical research."
